Meet the speakers
Ms Teh Soo Tyng
Ms. Teh Soo Tyng is currently the Sustainability Strategy and Programme Director with Nets Group of Companies as well as the Director of Eco Sentido Sdn bhd. Since her employment with Nets Printwork Sdn Bhd, she has led many green initiatives which brought many awards such as Prime Minister Hibuscus Award (PMHA) and ACCA Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Award (MaSRA) to the company.
She has established the Sustainability Department, managing certification such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and Eco Label. She has additional expertise in eco-conception, life cycle analysis, carbon footprint calculation and integrated management processes. She is also a MIM-ARM Certified Professional CSR Manager, EMS Lead Auditor and Green Industry Auditor. In 2016, she is recognized as National Industry Expert and Panel NOSS (National Occupational Standard Scheme) of Environment by Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia. In 2018, she is coffered as Certified Sustainability Practitioner by Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners. She is now heading the Eco Sense Eco Innovation & Design Centre. She is also a certified trainer and Well AP in 2020.
She holds a B. Sc. (Honors) in Biotechnology from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and a Master degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University of West of England (UWE), Bristol, UK.
Ms. Nadia Zaifulizan is a Business Research Executive specializing in Sustainable Development in Institut Sultan Iskandar (ISI). Her work in ISI is focused on a variety of sustainable development capacity-building initiatives and advocating for a more holistic worldview on sustainable development in order to initiate change. Ms. Nadia’s work under the Sustainable Development unit in ISI also involves the development of a sustainability framework and sustainability performance assessment for more practical sustainable approaches among businesses and organizations.
Ms. Nadia Zaifulizan is a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and a Certified Sustainability Practitioner by the Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners (ICSP). She is also a Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist under the Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners (ICSP).
She graduated with a Master of Environment, majoring in Sustainable Cities, Sustainable Regions, from the University of Melbourne, and prior to that, she graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Health and Safety (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Her earlier background combined with her current experiences provided a strong and effective influence throughout her work in the sustainability sector, especially in terms of environmental and social considerations in many sustainability initiatives and capacity-building programs.

I don’t have a background in sustainability. Can I attend this course?
Yes. This course is specially designed to enable everyone to gain knowledge on sustainability regardless of background or industry.
Is this a certified course, and after I attend will I be able to be a certified sustainability practitioner?
Currently there is no agency or ministry in Malaysia which have the authority to provide validation or certification for sustainability practitioners, because there is no specific legal provision for sustainability competency at the national level, especially for individual practitioners. Thus, no agency is authorized yet to provide the title ‘Certified Sustainability Practitioner’ in Malaysia, including ISI.
There are however, guidelines and requirements for the corporate sector as issued by Bursa Malaysia, and other legal provisions which contributes towards sustainability such as the guidelines according to the respective component ministries or departments, for example: environment and water.
Due to this unavailability, most sustainability qualified programs are based on international frameworks and global sources.
With respect to the current scenario, ISI provides training and capacity-building for sustainability competency fundamentals that is approved by the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) with contents based on international framework elements such as GRI.
By attending the course, participants will obtain a certificate which shows that participants have mastered the fundamentals needed for a sustainability practitioner.
Starting from the program provided by ISI, alumni of the program can determine their desired direction and proceed according to their own suitability and needs.

All participants will receive digital modules, digital certificate, access to the live online course, access to the online exam, and additional reference sources.
Is there any offer or discount available at the moment?
Offers are commonly available according to the date of registration, such as the Super Early Bird and the Early Bird registration periods. With that said, it is highly likely that this will be the last live version of the course and the following version will most probably be non-live ones which may be accessed through our E-Learning portal.
