On Sunday 14th March 2021, Institut Sultan Iskandar organized the Discovering Sustainability course which was held online via Zoom Webinar. The course is organized to raise awareness on sustainable development among businesses and institutions, and provide an insight towards sustainability considerations in decision-making as well as stakeholder management. The course webinar comprises of 6 modules focused on sustainable development in the local scene, institutions and businesses, environment, stakeholders, as well as sustainability in practice. The Discovering Sustainability course was presented by distinguished speakers in the sustainable development field, including Ms. Nor Shidawati Abdul Rasid, co-founder and strategist of Knowledge: New Old Twists (KNOTS) and former Manager, Education for Sustainable Development Programme, WWF Malaysia; Prof. Ts. Dr. Zainura Zainon Noor, Deputy Director of the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA); Prof. Ir. Dr. Haslenda Hashim, Chair of the Resource Sustainability Research Alliance UTM; Dr. Lekha Laxman, Former Senior Lecturer (Law Panel) of the Azman Hashim International Business School; Ms. Liu Chai Hong, Manager of Governance and Sustainability Department, KPMG Malaysia; and Ms. Sunita Devi, Sustainability Reporting and Communication Specialist, Devcom Trends PLT. The Discovering Sustainability webinar registration was made accessible and free for all 100 participants. The webinar is part of a series of programs designed to provide education and capacity building opportunities in the area of sustainable development and corporate sustainability. Through the program, participants were given an overview of the current sustainable development scene, its related issues, as well as steps to kickstart their own contribution towards sustainable development.
